C6 Corvette CORSA Exhaust Systems for 2005–2013 Corvettes

The C6 gave Corvette owners four very different V8s, and CORSA gives each one the exhaust note it deserves. C6 Corvette CORSA exhaust systems cover the 2005–2013 Coupe and Convertible, 2010–2013 Grand Sport, 2006–2013 Z06 and 2009–2013 ZR1, with Sport and Xtreme sound levels in axle-back and complete cat-back configurations. Fitment is more involved than it is on a C5, but it becomes simple once you know the year, model and, on the early cars, the transmission.

The C6 Year Break — and Why 2008 Is the Odd One

Standard C6 CORSA fitment divides cleanly into 2005–2008 and 2009–2013. The year that can trip up an owner is 2008. Chevrolet replaced the 6.0L LS2 with the 6.2L LS3 for 2008, but CORSA still keeps that car in the earlier 2005–2008 exhaust family. In other words, a 2008 LS3 does not use the same CORSA system as a 2009 LS3. Shop the year first and the engine second.

• 2005–2008 Coupe and Convertible: The 6.0L LS2 cars from 2005–2007 and the 6.2L LS3 in 2008 share the same 2.5-inch axle-back family. CORSA Sport choices are 21009 with 4.5-inch tips and 14169 with 3.5-inch tips; CORSA Xtreme choices are 21010 with 4.5-inch tips and 14469 with 3.5-inch tips.
• 2005–2008 cat-back systems: The complete 3.5-inch-tip systems split by transmission. Manual cars and the 2005 four-speed automatic use Sport 14169CB4 or Xtreme 14469CB4. The 2006–2008 six-speed automatic uses Sport 14169CB6 or Xtreme 14469CB6.
• 2009–2013 Coupe and Convertible: These 6.2L LS3 cars use the later 2.5-inch family. CORSA Sport choices are 21011 with 4.5-inch tips and 14108 with 3.5-inch tips; CORSA Xtreme choices are 21012 with 4.5-inch tips and 14470 with 3.5-inch tips. Complete cat-backs are 14108CB Sport and 14470CB Xtreme.
• 2010–2013 Grand Sport: The Grand Sport uses the same 2009–2013 CORSA exhaust family as the LS3 Coupe and Convertible, so there is no separate widebody exhaust group to work through.
• 2006–2013 Z06 and 2009–2013 ZR1: These cars move into CORSA's separate 3.0-inch family. Sport axle-back 14164 uses 4.0-inch tips, while Xtreme axle-back 21077 steps up to 4.5-inch tips. Complete Sport cat-backs split at the 2012 model year.

The C6 X-Pipe Splits by Year and Transmission

A complete CORSA cat-back already includes the correct X-pipe, so there is no reason to add one separately. The standalone X-pipes are for owners starting with an axle-back who also want to replace the center section. This is where early C6 transmission fitment matters most.

• 14163: 2.5-inch X-pipe for 2005–2008 manual-transmission cars and the 2005 four-speed automatic.
• 14127: 2.5-inch X-pipe for 2006–2008 cars with the six-speed automatic.
• 14330: 2.5-inch X-pipe for 2009–2013 Coupe, Convertible and Grand Sport models with either transmission.
• 14173: 3.0-inch X-pipe for 2006–2011 Z06 and 2009–2011 ZR1.
• 14331: 3.0-inch X-pipe for 2012–2013 Z06 and ZR1.

That means a manual and automatic 2006 C6 can use the same axle-back but require different X-pipes. If you are building a complete system from separate pieces, check the transmission before ordering the center section.

C6 Z06 and ZR1 CORSA Exhaust

The Z06 and ZR1 share CORSA's 3.0-inch rear-exhaust family, separate from the 2.5-inch systems used on the Coupe, Convertible and Grand Sport. CORSA Sport axle-back 14164 and CORSA Xtreme axle-back 21077 cover the applicable Z06 and ZR1 years without another rear-system break. The complete Sport cat-back does split at 2012: 14164CB1 combines the 14164 axle-back with X-pipe 14173 for 2006–2011 Z06 and 2009–2011 ZR1, while 14164CB3 uses X-pipe 14331 for 2012–2013 Z06 and ZR1.

C6 Grand Sport CORSA Exhaust

The Grand Sport looks like it should need its own exhaust because of the wider bodywork, but CORSA fitment stays with the standard 2009–2013 LS3 family. A 2010–2013 Grand Sport shops the same Sport and Xtreme axle-back and cat-back choices as the Coupe and Convertible of those years.

C6 CORSA Tip Sizes and Finishes

CORSA gives the C6 three tip sizes, and the difference is easy to see at the back of the car. The 3.5-inch Twin Tips keep the proportions closest to the factory exhaust and are used on the 14169, 14469, 14108 and 14470 families. The 4.0-inch Twin Tips belong to the 14164 Sport system for the Z06 and ZR1. The largest option is the 4.5-inch Twin Tip, used on 21009 and 21010 for the early C6, 21011 and 21012 for the later cars, and 21077 for the Z06 and ZR1. Polished and Black PVD finishes let you keep the rear bright or give it a darker look.

CORSA Sport or CORSA Xtreme for a C6?

CORSA Sport gives the C6 a deeper, more aggressive voice without making the exhaust the center of every drive. It is the easier choice for a Corvette that still sees long highway trips and plenty of cruising. CORSA Xtreme turns the volume up considerably and keeps the exhaust much more present whenever the car is running. Which CORSA Exhaust Fits My C6 Corvette?

Start with the model and year. A standard 2005–2008 C6 stays in the early family, including the 2008 LS3, while the 2009–2013 Coupe, Convertible and Grand Sport use the later family. On early complete systems and X-pipes, check the transmission as well. Z06 and ZR1 owners move into the separate 3.0-inch family, with the complete Sport systems changing at 2012.
