KYB Corvette Shocks have been made n the United States since 1974. Their commitment to engineering innovation and manufacturing has made them one of the world's largest supplier of shock absorbers for OEM and Aftermarket applications. Monotube shocks has an internal cylinder thqat is divided into sections, a gas section and a fluid section. The piston and shft move up and down in the fluid portion and uses a single valve to control rate. The internal diameter of a mono shock is larger, but the external diameter remains the same. The gas chamber is separated from the fluid area for the excess fluid movement during the compression phase and is sealed with a floating piston and seal. When quick response is requires, the floating piston is pushed further into the gas chamber which quickly increases gas pressure and makes the unit more responsive. The opposite is true when there is not high demand on the shock. The floating piston and seal will not push as far into the gas chamber, giving you a smoother stroke and softer ride. KYB Corvette Shocks give you the best of both worlds, an on demand performance product that rides like a touring model. The KYB Gas-a-Just Corvette Shocks insure the correct placement for your replacement shock and provide a firmer ride with additional control. KYB gas filled shocks are a direct replacement OEM equipment and require no permanent modification to your Corvette. No matter if your drive a C5 or a C6 Corvette, KYB Corvette Shock Absorbers make for an economical choice when your OEM equipment need replacing.
